Did you knew that the word "barbeque" comes from the Spanish "barbacoa"- a way the local population on the Caribbean region smoked their meat in order to preserve it for a long time?
That barbacoa practice has been used by the buccaneers - the outlaws who were roaming the Caribbeans and plundering the Spanish trade ships.
